Pat Baker (Patrick de Oude) was born in the year 1971, at the age of 9, he already played music of Giorgi Moroder, Bobby O. & Patrick Cowley and many others in his bedroom. His first dj gig was in the winter of 1983 for a local audience in a youthclub in a city called Den Helder.
The “Ferry Maats Soul Show” every Thursday on the national radio, connected him to dance-music. Disco and Soul were the mainstream in dance clubs. In that same period, a pioneer in mixing, Ben Liebrand launched the Grandmix on the radio once a year. From that moment he started mixing with records on his Technics SL 1200s turntables, playing at local school parties and youth-clubs. When he heard one of the first house records “love can turn around” from Farley Jackmaster Funk, he was inspired by the “house” sounds of Chicago, the uplifting baselines and kicks.
After visiting clubs The Amsterdam It in the late 80s and The Roxy early 90s, it was clear that DJ-ing is his thing to do. Meanwhile he has already performed with DJ’s like Michel de Hey, Roog, Lucien Foort, Bingoplayers & Marco V.
Since the introduction of the computer he combines hardware and software. He’s enjoying the Undergroundhousemusic – Techno – and Techhouse sound with live DJ-performing, equipped by Allen & Heath’s DB2, Apple Pro and Ableton Live.
